A one night only benefit performance of the Tony nominated hit musical, [title of show]. 100% of the proceeds will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS a nonprofit fundraising and grant-making organization. BC/EFA grants more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations and social service programs at The Actors Fund, including the HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, the Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic, The Dancers’ Resource and the Stage Managers’ Project.  [title of show] features Valley natives Lucas Coatney, Lynzee Foreman, Jenny Hintze and Seth Tucker joined by Ashley Stults on the creative team!

[title of show] follows two guys who decide to write a completely original musical starring themselves and their attractive and talented ladyfriends. Their musical, [title of show], gets into a musical theatre festival, and becomes a hit. Then it gets an off-Broadway production! Then (drumroll if you've got a drum) it's announced that their musical is going to Broadway (hooray!)! The New York Times called [title of show] "DELECTABLE ENTERTAINMENT! A postmodern homage to the grand tradition of backstage musicals like Kiss Me, Kate and A Chorus Line.” A laugh out loud musical for both theatre nerds and regular nerds alike. Come out and support a great cause while this hilarious cast makes you giggle all night. Lynzee Foreman (Susan)- Lynzee has been Directing, Choreographing, and Performing in the valley for several years. Past roles include: Erma in Anything Goes ( Phoenix Theatre), Pippi in Great American Trailer Park Musical, Lina Lamont in Singin In the Rain (Arizona Broadway Theatre, Maureen in RENT (Nearly Naked Theatre) She has won the ariZoni award for Choreography for her work on Once on This Island and CATS both at Spotlight Youth Theatre. She would like to give a big shout out to Seth and also Broadway Cares.

Jenny Hintze (Heidi)- Phoenix Theatre: The Magic Books (TYA), Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, Pippin, Rent, Our Town (Emily/BroadwayWorld Phoenix Award), S'Wonderful, Gypsy (Louise/AriZoni nomination), Dream A Little Dream, Nine, Hairspray, All The More To Love, Curtains, Company, The Full Monty, Crazy For You (Polly/AriZoni nomination), Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Best Little Whorehouse...,  A Chorus Line, and Swing! Seth Tucker (Hunter)- a native Arizonian and graduate of ASU (Business & Music) now lives in NYC and is thrilled to be back performing for such a great cause! Most recently seen Off-Broadway in Pageant: The Musical he can also be heard on the cast album! Favorite AZ credits: Spelling Bee at Phoenix Theatre (Coneybear, Arizoni Award), Forever Plaid at Arizona Broadway Theatre (Jinx) and Parade at Mesa Outback (Leo Frank, AriZoni nom.). As a playwright Seth’s show Our Kiki: A Gay Farce premiered at NY Fringe and is currently performing at ASU! Thanks to this great cast, his supportive family and everyone who donated their time and money to BC/EFA.

Bad Words for a Good Cause

The daring, dirty, vulgar and downright hilarious songs that you'll never hear at a PG-13 cabaret all come to the forefront tonight. Not for the conservative or faint of heart, but if you're looking for the edgiest songs performed by New York's top talents, "Bad Words for a Good Cause" is the show for you! 

Not only will you hear some the best songs most shows are too scared to perform but also half of all proceeds go to "Live Through Love," a Non-Profit Organization set up to bring awareness and educate on the battles against discrimination and reward open LGBT High School Seniors with scholarships. Shayla Benoit (Peformer)- Shayla is an actor, singer, dancer, director, choreographer, producer, and Star Wars enthusiast who currently resides in NYC. Shayla has appeared in regional theatres across the country, at Radio City Music Hall, in concerts at 54 Below, and can be seen and heard on television, radio, and film. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Florida State University. Shayla is also the co-founder of Shady Theatrics, a creative video production company that has produced works for The Tony Awards for the past three years including collaborations with Chita Rivera, Carol Channing, Peter Scolari, and Tom Hanks. www.shaylabenoit.com www.shadytheatrics.com

Nathan Chang (Host)- As a self-proclaimed writer of "silly songs", Nathan Chang's music has garnered him a Bistro Award, a MAC award nomination and he has had the honor to perform his work at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the 25th Annual Cabaret Convention. Silliness wins! Apart from songwriting and cabaret, Nathan is also a sketch comedy writer, he's on the improv team "MixTape", he plays clarinet with the jazz band "Dana Vincent and the Accompanymen" and he is currently wrapping up production for the second season of his sketch comedy web series "Chitty Chitty Bailey Chang" which can be found on the YouTube. Alyssa Chiarello (Performer)- Alyssa graduated Magna Cum Laude with her B.A. in Musical Theatre Performance from Arizona State University. She was last seen in the “world premiere” musical Bleeding Love, in which she originated the role of ‘Lolli’. Recent credits include RENT (Mimi), and In The Heights (Vanessa). She can be seen next in the new Off Broadway musical Here I Am.

 

Chris Costa (Performer)- Chris is so happy he gets to sing alongside his man, and it's for a great cause...aca-awesome! Brian Crowley (Performer)- is thrilled to be involved in such a fucking awesome show! He's got a passion for the arts (aka a BFA) and is an expert whistler. He's stoked to be able to give time and talent for a great cause and having so much fun doing it!

 

Sarah Drake is a New York based actress who received her BFA in Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory. She recently stepped back onto land after playing Penny in the Royal Caribbean production of Hairspray.Other professional theater credits include: Natalie in the first regional production of Next to Normal (SpeakEasyStage), and Sue Snell in Carrie.

 

Molly Evans (Perfomer)- Molly graduated from the University of Miami in 2012 with a  BFA in Musical Theatre. In the fall she appeared on the season 3 premiere of Lifetime's "I Killed My BFF"as Skylar Neese. She died. Last year she was playing "Tracy Turnblad" in "Hairspray" aboard Royal Caribbean's "Oasis of the Seas". She lived. She is also, surprisingly, 6 foot 9.

Lindsey Geroux (Performer)- is enthused to be making her Duplex debut. Once upon a time, she was featured as a guest soloist with the Phoenix Symphony, and recorded the sexy/soothing vocal E’s to Massage Envy’s jingles. Hot. Other favorite roles include: “Kooch” in Damon Intrabartolo’s PopNation reading; ‘Baker’s Wife’ (Into the Woods); ‘Magenta’ (The Rocky Horror Show--recipient of an Ari“Zoni” theatre award); ‘Beggar Woman’ (Sweeney Todd); ‘Martha’ (The Secret Garden) at ASU Lyric Opera Theatre… She has also danced the West Side Story, and played a very convincing Doo-Wop/Urchin (Chiffon) in Little Shop of Horrors.

Sime Kosta (Performer/Producer)- is incredibly excited to be making his Duplex debut. Born and raised in Zadar, Croatia Šime developed a passion for performing at an early age.  It had been his dream to visit United States, and at the age of 16 his dream became a reality. In the States, Šime discovered and fell in love with musicals, and was very excited to pursue professional training at Arizona State University . His favorite credits include Dr. Frank N. Furter inThe Rocky Horror Show (AriZoni Nomination), "Leaf Coneybear" in Spelling Bee and Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q. 

Kate Marshall (Performer)- Kate is currently performing with the National Tour of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers as Milly. M.M. Arizona State University. Credits: Shrek (Fiona), Legally Blonde (Vivienne), Rocky Horror Picture Show (Riff Raff),The King and I (Anna), Grey Gardens (Act 1 Big Edie), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Rona), The Sound of Music (Maria). 

 

Emily McLoughlin (Performer)- graduated with a BFA in Musical Theater from The Hartt School in 2010. She grew up in New York's Hudson Valley. Favorite roles include Smitty in 'H2$', Mary Todd Lincoln in 'Lincoln in Love' at Goodspeed Musicals and of course TheatreWorks USA's first national tour of Martha Speaks with Seth! After just returning from the national tour of '50 Shades! The Musical Parody' she's now back in NYC, bar tending and auditioning.

Brian Skellenger (Performer)- A Minnesota native and resident for 30 years, Brian recently moved to NYC to pursue his goals of being poor and not the right type for things.  In search of acceptance, he currently works as a manny, and so far no child has died on his watch.  Credits include several shows at the Guthrie Theater, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Mixed Blood Theater, and Children's Theatre Company, as well as a recent production of "The Full Monty" directed by Chet Walker.  Now let's say some bad words!

Dominic Sheahan-Stahl (Performer/Live Through Live Founder)- the founder of  the Live Through Love Foundation. He's also an actor and an award winning filmmaker, Activist and Public Speaker. In 2012 GLAAD honored Dominic as one of the top 10 leaders in the LGBT community, which included President Obama. Always react with Love.

 

Seth Tucker (Performer/Producer)- Seth was most recently seen in the Off-Bway revival Pageant and can also be heard on the upcoming cast album. Seth has recently been working on the production side with benefit concerts like this one and an upcoming production of [title of show] in AZ to raise money for Bway Cares. Thanks to everyone who donated to this great cause!
